Yup, you guessed right. That’s the treadmill he’s hiding under! The treadmill happens to be in my sewing room, so I guess in his little mind he was humming “nearer my mom to me.”

    I always think of Nana during thunder storms, she was always so cautious when it thundered out, I suppose it was because of her town being bombed during the war. I remember her being afraid and making sure that I felt safe.
